I tried on this dress at a local retail store in the grey. The xl fit me pretty well (I usually wear a size 16), but I wasn't sold on the color, so I didn't get it. Then I found it on Amazon in black, which I liked much better, so after some debate, I ordered it.It is in organic cotton, so is wonderfully soft and feels good against the skin. It's also not a too-thin clingy cotton, but is a nice weight, so if you don't have a perfect figure, you can still feel good about wearing it because it's not going to show off everything you don't want to show off! I like the cut, too, which is flares a bit beneath the bust, because it gives the dress--and you!--some shape, rather than look like you're wearing a paper bag.That said, I noted that this color fit a bit different than the grey--it was looser in the bodice, almost too loose (and I'm fairly busty, so there really is a lot of room up there!). The armholes gap a bit too. I really like the dress, so instead of sending it back I washed it and dried it on low to see how it would turn out. It did not shrink from just washing, and it did seem to shrink a tiny bit--but not much at all--in the dryer. I think its now slightly more fitted in the bodice but there is still a slight armhole gap. I've decided to keep it, because it is a perfect casual summer dress and SO comfortable. If it fit me slightly better I think it would also work for casual dressy events, like dinner, etc.Seems to be great quality, and very comfortable, so I do recommend it!

This can be worn out at night or during the day and comes in other colors. Material is comfortable and fits true to size. Love all adventura styles because of the great casual/dressy styles and comfort.
